
Crochet Boot Cuffs Pattern + Tutorial
Create a pair of thick boot cuffs to wear over the tops of your boots to prevent downward draft. Protect your feet and look more casual. This is the Crochet Boot Cuff pattern. The button shown in the example is nonfunctional. It's there for aesthetic purposes, and Mikey created his own buttons using a laser cutter. This uses Red Heart Super Easy yarn with a single ball to make the pair. The fancy stitch seen is called the crochet feather stitch. FYI: The boots people are asking me about were from a Facebook Ad in 2020, and I cannot recall who I purchased them from. Yarn Details Red Heart Super Easy. 250 g / 8.8 oz, 218 meters / 238 yards A - Slate - 1 Ball Hook: 6 mm / J/10 Gauge : 10 sc and 11 rows = 4” [10 cm] Size: Average Adult (each boot cuff is 77 grams) Button: Non-functioning button. The buttons shown were made by Mikey using a laser cutter. Vintage 1950s atomic era style. Buttons are oversized at 2” across the widest spans. Abbreviations Beg = Begin(ning) Ch(s) = Chain(s) Ext hdc = Extended Half Double Crochet.s Hdc = Half Double Crochet Rep = Repeat Rnd: Round RS = Right Side St(s) = Stitch(es) Technically, the feather stitch is a half double crochet 3 together stitch, but the legs of the stitch for each of the three are in distinct positions. (3 loops on hook) - First Leg Yoh and insert hook into skipped half double crochet 2 rows below. Yoh and pull loop through and extend it to the height of the current row being made. (5 loops on hook) - Second Leg Yoh and insert hook into next ch-1 space. Yoh and pull loop through. (7 loops on hook) - Third Leg Yoh and pull loop through all loops on hook. Beginning feather stitch made. Feather St = Feather Stitch rows or rounds when there are feather stitches already below. (shown in row 4 below) Yoh and insert hook into ch-1 space directly below.
