Stuart Broad's Reaction As England Finally Break Ashes Drought Is Pure Gold | WATCH Stuart Broad's priceless reaction as England won their first Ashes 2025-26 Test in Australia has gone viral. Share Your Feedback Choose News18 on Google England great Stuart Broad was part relieved and part overjoyed when his team hit the winning runs to win the fourth match of the 2025-26 Ashes to secure a first Test win in Australia since 2011 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). As Australia ravaged England 3-0 in the first three matches, the former pacer courted extreme trolling and criticism in the last few weeks for his pre-series comments about how this was the ‘worst’ Aussie side since 2011 coming up against the ‘best’ English team for that same period. His commentary videos were going viral for the wrong reasons, with his priceless reactions of disappointment all but tickling the home supporters. Recommended Stories Here, though, he couldn’t stop smiling after the four-wicket win was completed. “16 painful losses, two draws since the last one," he said. “A Test match on these shores. Look what it means to those fans flown all the way around the world to see this England team. England win a Test match at the MCG. Think of Ben Stokes, think of Joe Root, players who have been through everything here in Australia throughout their Test match careers. They deserve it. Ben Stokes has been a warrior throughout the whole series. He deserves to win a Test match here," Broad added. Test match bowlers do not require this level of movement to bowl effectively in a Test match. Good Test match pitches will have good bounce but not excessive sideways movements," he said on Sen Cricket after the first day. However, it was the same nature that eventually helped England win the match. On sportier pitches in the previous three Tests, their batting’s defensive weaknesses were exposed, whereas here, when defense was just not working, their uber-aggressive style paid dividends.
