Midnight masses held across Coimbatore churches on Christmas eve

Christmas celebrations took place across Coimbatore on the night of Wednesday, December 24, 2025, with churches hosting special prayers and midnight masses to mark the birth of Christ. At St. Michael the Archangel Church in Town Hall, two prayer sessions were conducted, starting with Christmas carols in the evening. At midnight, the special Christmas mass was led by Thomas Aquinas, diocesan vicar of Coimbatore. Other churches across the city, including Christ the King Church on Nanjappa Road, Carmel Annai Church in Carmel Nagar, and Holy Trinity Church in Ramanathapuram, also held midnight masses. Worshippers participated in prayers and celebrations at all these churches, exchanging greetings, singing carols, and sharing cakes and sweets. Published - December 25, 2025 07:37 pm IST
