Kauvery Hospital launches SOS feature on mobile app for faster emergency care
Kauvery Hospital has announced the launch of its one-tap ‘SOS’ emergency feature on the ‘Kauvery Kare’ mobile application to simplify and accelerate access to emergency medical care. The feature enables users to receive immediate medical support with just a single tap, and without the need to remember emergency numbers or explain their location during critical moments, doctors said at a press meet on Tuesday (December 23, 2025). Doctors from the hospital described Kauvery Kare app as a digital front door, designed to help patients with appointments, teleconsultations, and payments without hurdles such as long waits. Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-founder and Executive Director, Kauvery Hospital, said that 25 ambulances connected to the network are now linked through a 5G-enabled system integrated with the app. When a user presses the SOS button, an alert is instantly triggered. At the same time, a doctor becomes available via video call to provide immediate guidance until help arrives. Ashok, Head, Emergency Room, Kauvery Hospital Alwarpet, said that nearly one-third of patients visiting their emergency department are elderly, and an SOS app with a one-click emergency feature will make a big difference to urgent care. Suresh Sambandam, Founder and CEO, Kissflow, who launched the app feature along with doctors from the hospital, commended the application, and the SOS feature. He said, “This [SOS] is not a software or app-level solution. It requires an entire healthcare infrastructure behind it. I invest in many startups, but I haven’t been able to invest in solutions like this in healthcare because none had the necessary infrastructure to support it.” Published - December 23, 2025 03:49 pm IST
